Shoulder Abaya Sizing

Option 2

Measure Your Body

  • Lay your abaya/dress flat on the floor with the front facing down and the arms spread out in the shape of a 'T'.
  • Measure the bust, hips, sleeve length, shoulder width, and length.
  • Be sure to multiply the bust and hip measurements by 2 to give you the total measurement around.
  • Compare these measurements to the measurements chart listed under the 'Measurements' tab on the abaya page.
  • The length measurement you took from your abaya (in inches) directly relates to the abaya size you would usually need.  For example, if your abaya measured 56 inches long, you would need a size 56 (which is also 56 inches long).  So you would compare the remaining bust, hip, shoulder, and sleeve measurements with the actual abaya measurements in the chart for size 56 to make sure it will fit.
  • Take these measurements to be sure your abaya will fit:
  1. Bust - Measure the fullest point around your chest, keeping the tape measure straight across your back.
  2. Hips - Measure around the fullest part of your hips.
  3. Length - Measure from the bottom of the back of your neck, straight down your back to the floor (or however long you would like your abaya to be).
  4. Shoulder Width - Measure from the start of one shoulder to the other, taking the measuring tape behind your neck.
  5. Sleeve Length - Measure from the top of your shoulder joint and straight down your arm up until the length you would like your sleeves to reach.
  • Compare your measurements to the measurements chart listed under the 'Measurements' tab on the abaya page.
  • The length measurement you took from your body (in inches) directly relates to the abaya size you would usually need.  For example, if your abaya measured 56 inches long, you would need a size 56 (which is also 56 inches long).  So you would compare the remaining bust, hip, shoulder, and sleeve measurements you took with the actual abaya measurements in the chart for size 56 to make sure it will fit.
